Artist Karen Clancy

My name is Karen Clancy. I am an Irish artist, educator, and creative facilitator with over twelve years of experience teaching art at post-primary level across the UK and Ireland. I am currently studying an MA in Art, the Psyche and the Creative Imagination, further deepening my interdisciplinary interest in how creativity, inner life, and symbolic imagery shape human experience.

I originally completed a BA in Interior and Furniture Design, which informs my sensitivity to materials, structure, and spatial storytelling. I also hold a certificate in Jungian Psychology through Art Therapy a foundation that continues to guide my fascination with archetype, intuition, and the healing potential of the creative process. In 2017, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga London, and set up an independent studio from 2018 to 2020 in Ealing Broadway.  I have explored Reiki level 2, Moon Mna courses looking at the celtic goddess through the celtic calendar and since then I have authentically facilitated women’s circles that weave together seasonal cycles, ritual, mindfulness, and art-making.

My own artistic practice is instinctive and exploratory, driven by a deep connection with the natural world and the unseen or inner landscapes we navigate. Through mixed media, symbolism, and embodied mark-making, I explore themes of transformation, connection, and creative awakening.

As a teacher, my motivation is to empower students to recognise themselves as artists - not defined by perfection, but by curiosity and personal expression. I deliver both the Junior and Senior Cycle Art curriculum, encouraging skill development grounded in meaning, identity, and imagination.

Across all facets of my work, I aim to cultivate spaces whether studios, classrooms, or community circles where creativity becomes a language for growth, belonging, and self-discovery
