ABOUT ME

IMG_0786.jpeg

I’m Karen Clancy, an Irish artist, educator, and creative facilitator with over twelve years of experience teaching art across the UK and Ireland. I’m currently studying an MA in Art, the Psyche and the Creative Imagination, exploring how creativity, imagination, and symbolic imagery shape human experience.

My own artistic practice is instinctive and exploratory. I work with mixed media, symbolism, and embodied mark-making to explore transformation, connection, and the inner landscapes of imagination. This informs my teaching, where I encourage curiosity, experimentation, and the joy of discovery.

I deliver both Junior and Senior Cycle Art curricula with a focus on skill, identity, and meaningful creative expression. My goal is to empower students and workshop participants to recognise themselves as artists—not defined by perfection, but by imagination, confidence, and personal expression.

Beyond the classroom, I facilitate creative circles and workshops that weave together mindfulness, ritual, and art-making, cultivating inclusive spaces for growth, reflection, and creative awakening.

Whether in a studio, classroom, or community space, I create environments where creativity is celebrated, imagination is nurtured, and everyone feels inspired to explore and express their unique voice.
